About me
Hi! my name is Bhargavi Nirmal and I am
commonly known as Bee. This nickname
was quickly loved and used by
Kindergarteners and has stuck with me
over the years. I am a certified practicing
Speech Pathologist and have been
practicing for over 10 years and I am
passionate about advocating for children’s
right to self-express. The role of a Speech
Pathologist is boundless. We have been
trained to assess and treat communication
disorders and often our role goes beyond
these parameters. In my experience, I have
learned looking at a child for their whole
selves including their well-being,
confidence and emotional development.
These all play a large part in decision-
making of goals for each child. Often, we
are seen as Teachers in the eyes of children
which is a beautiful role to step into given
the right settings. Families often view us as
trainers or cheerleaders for their children
to team up with schools and child care
centres to better understand their child’s
learning needs. Teachers and carers often
view us as partners in the journey to a
child’s personal growth and learning. These
are just some of the ways we can impact a
child’s world. I learned this quickly as a
junior clinician part of large multi-
disciplinary team. So, I made the decision
to grow as a person, as a graduate and
travelled the world, I lived overseas, I
worked overseas. I have worked in
multifaceted dynamic environments where
my role wasn’t so straightforward and
would also involve strong advocacy in
creating accessibility. After years of being
part of large teams I believed I was ready
to start my own practice and share my
vision. My passion is to impact
communities and bridge gaps in our
education systems to have language be
more accessible for children. In my years of
practicing, I have worked in private
practice, public schools (both primary and
secondary) child-care centres around
Sydney and London.
